Process

Laparoscopic myomectomy is a procedure designed to remove fibroids from the uterus while preserving the organ's integrity. Unlike open surgeries, which require large incisions and longer recovery times, laparoscopic myomectomy utilizes small incisions and specialized instruments, resulting in minimal scarring and reduced post-operative discomfort.

The procedure begins with the administration of general anesthesia to ensure patient comfort throughout the surgery. Once the patient is anesthetized, the surgeon makes several small incisions in the abdominal wall. Carbon dioxide gas is then introduced into the abdominal cavity to create a working space for the surgeon.

Next, a laparoscope, a thin tube with a camera and light source, is inserted through one of the incisions. This allows the surgeon to visualize the fibroids on a monitor, providing a clear and magnified view of the surgical area. Other specialized instruments are inserted through the remaining incisions to remove the fibroids.

Using these instruments, the surgeon skillfully excises the fibroids from the uterus, ensuring minimal damage to the surrounding tissues. Once the fibroids have been successfully removed, the incisions are closed, and the patient is taken to the recovery room.
